Akhanda 2: AP Govt permits premieres on Dec 4 with Rs 600 ticket price; 10-day hike approved for Balakrishna starrer

Nandamuri Balakrishna's roar is set to be heard a day early.The Andhra Pradesh government has formally approved special premiere shows and ticket hikes for the massive devotional action entertainer.In a major development that has electrified the trade and fans alike, the Andhra Pradesh government has officially granted permission for special premiere shows for Nandamuri Balakrishna's highly anticipated Akhanda 2: Thaandavam. Directed by mass specialist Boyapati Sreenu, the film is set to storm theaters worldwide on December 5, but the madness will begin a day early in AP.

According to the latest official order, the government has greenlit special premiere shows to be screened on the night of December 4. This strategic move allows the film to kickstart its box office rampage a day before the official Friday release. For these exclusive premiere screenings, the administration has capped the ticket price at a premium rate of ₹600, inclusive of GST.

In addition to the premieres, the government has positively responded to the producers' request for a ticket price hike during the regular theatrical run to help recover the high budget involved. For a period of 10 days starting from the release date, single screens have been permitted to increase rates by ₹75, while multiplexes have been granted a hike of ₹100 per ticket.

Akhanda 2, produced by 14 Reels Plus, carries the weight of massive expectations.The film is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, which celebrated a 100-day run and became a defining film for Balakrishna. The combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu (a hat-trick hit duo) coupled with Thaman S's thunderous background score has generated unprecedented pre-release business.

The film also features Samyuktha Menon as the female lead and Aadhi Pinisetty in a crucial role. With the government's support and a massive release planned, Akhanda 2 is poised to register career-best openings for Balakrishna.
