All-Time Box Office Blockbuster 'KGF Chapter 2' To Premiere Via Pan-Per-View Model On Amazon Prime Video

Mumbai, May 16 - Yash-fronted "KGF Chapter 2" is making its way for digital release on Amazon Prime Video after setting new box office records. The Pan-India biggie, which was released on April 14 in theaters worldwide, has been on a dream box office run and grossed over 1170 crores worldwide so far, the third biggest ever for an Indian movie.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, "KGF Chapter 2" has completed 5 weekends at the box office and is nearing its end, though the Hindi version is still going strong. On Monday (May 16), Hombale Films, took to Twitter and teased the TVOD (Transactional Video on Demand), also known as Pay-Per-View, release of the film soon.

After Hombale Films teased the TVOD release, Amazon Prime Video announced that the movie is now available to rent on its platform for Rs. 199 in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The movie might available for all the subscribers after 8 weeks of theatrical release, i.e. June 3rd.

Interestingly, "KGF 2" is taking a similar route as SS Rajamouli's "RRR", which was released three weeks earlier on May 25th in theaters worldwide. "RRR" will be available to stream on ZEE5 in South Indian versions, 8 weeks after theatrical release. It has so grossed over 1110 crores worldwide.
