Animated Baahubali: The Eternal War Teaser Drops: Part 1 To Hit Big Screens In 2027

Hyderabad, November 4 - The Indian cinema got a glimpse of what animation can do at the box office when Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films' Mahavatar Narsimha took theatres by storm with record-breaking collection earlier this year. It stunned the trade with a worldwide collection of over 300 crores, making it one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Three months later, it seems that Mahavatar Narsimha was just the beginning for Indian animation, with the peak seeming to be coming in 2027. Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic, a one-cut version of his epic duology, was recently released, and with this, the maverick filmmaker announced the animated film series on Baahubali.

Titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, the teaser/trailer of the film was attached to Baahubali: The Epic in cinemas, and now, it has been dropped online. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Ishan Shukla, Eternal War will be a two-part film, with the first scheduled for a 2027 release in cinemas worldwide.

The Eternal War will follow the betrayed and murdered prince Amarendra Baahubali (voiced by Prabhas) into the afterlife. In the afterlife, Amarendra Baahubali finds himself at the centre of an ancient cosmic war between devas and asuras. As he navigates through the 14 realms of existence, he forges an unlikely alliance, confronts divine forces beyond mortal comprehension, and fights to restore balance to the cosmos.

Baahubali: The Eternal War is written by Ishan Shukla and Sowmya Sharma, produced by S.S. Rajamouli, Shobu Yarlagadda, and Prasad Devineni, and with music by Oscar-winner MM Keeravaani.
