Booming Pre-Release Theatrical Business For Most Anticipated 'Pushpa 2 - The Rule'
Hyderabad, October 10 - A little less than two months are still left for the release of the most anticipated Indian movie of the year Pushpa 2 - The Rule but the trade is buzzing with the record-breaking theatrical business deals like never before.
Starring superstar Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 producers are setting high prices to sell theatrical rights and it seems the distributors are willing to pay to secure rights for different areas. Earlier, there were reports that distributors weren't happy with makers demanding high prices but things have changed a lot over the last few months.
There is a buzz in Telugu media that the liberal policies regarding shows and ticket prices by the newly formed Andhra Pradesh government have ignited confidence in the buyers who are now willing to take more risk in securing theatrical rights of movies that are potentially huge money spinners.
According to Track Tollywood, the Nizam area theatrical business is expected to be valued at 80 crores and Ceeded at 30 crores. Overall, the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) business is expected to be valued at approximately 200 crore which is massive.
Pushpa - The Rule was a surprise box office success in the dubbed Hindi version and now, there is huge anticipation for Pushpa 2 which is likely to emerge as one of the biggest grossers in Hindi. As reported earlier, the theatrical rights of Pushpa 2 are already sold to Anil Thadani of AA Films on an advance basis for an earth-shattering sum of Rs 200 crore which is a record.
Apart from AP-TG and North India region, the blockbuster sequel is expected to fetch record-breaking deals for other regions of the domestic market. Internationally, Pushpa 2 is guaranteed to grab a record deal. In North America, the film's break-even has been valued at $15 million which is record valued business for an Indian title.
The business of Pushpa 2 for all areas, domestic and international territories, is yet to be locked but it is clear that the film's theatrical business will be over 500 crore which is exceptional. The anticipation is at an all-time so expect the movie to set the box office on fire upon its release on December 5.
