Christopher Nolan Confirms His Next Film For 2026 Release
Los Angeles, October 9 - After the box office blockbuster Oppenheimer, maverick filmmaker Christopher Nolan has finalised his next film which will be funded by Universal Pictures.
According to Deadline, Nolan's next will be headlined by Matt Damon and this will mark his third movie with the blockbuster filmmaker after Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023). While the plot details of the movie are kept under wraps, it will have an IMAX release on July 17, 2026.
The shoot of this yet-untitled movie is expected to start in early 2025 and it will reportedly feature many A-list actors to star alongside Matt Damon who now joins the likes of Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy as actors who have worked with Nolan on at least three occasions.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's last film Oppenheimer, also backed by Universal Pictures, was released in July 2023 and emerged as a mega box office success, grossing $328.9 million at the North American box office and $975.6 million worldwide.
Apart from its box office success, Oppenheimer won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. It also won five Golden Globe Awards along with several other accolades.
