Huge Update On Plans To Bring Top NXT Stars To The WWE Main Roster

A big update has emerged on plans to bring NXT stars, Gunther and Marcel Barthel, to the WWE main roster.

Fightful had previously reported that there have been internal discussions about bringing up the group Imperium to the WWE main roster, with Smackdown being the heavily discussed destination. Specifically, the pitch involved Walter/Gunther and Marcel Barthel, but not Fabian Aichner.



On the latest edtion of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that The Imperium theme was also changed this past week, but that’s because the plan was to break the group up with Gunther and Marcel Barthel moving to the main roster, and not going as a team or unit and likely on different brands.

Fightful reported that Walter/Gunther made the move over to the United States, the plan had always been to bring him up to the Raw or Smackdown.
