Reportedly, Roman Reigns' SummerSlam 2020 Return Was Kept Secret From Other WWE Talent

"The Big Dog" Roman Reigns took the WWE Universe in storm making an astonishing return last night at SummerSlam 2020. Several Superstars took to their social media handles in order to make the comment. Triple even reacted saying that, "A chaotic and exciting end to what was a phenomenal show. Sometimes the BIG DOG has to show you it’s still his yard."

SmackDown rating and his kind of stardom are one of the main reasons why they all have come out with the reaction. Now, SmackDown ratings are likely to get a boost.



With Roman's return to the ring, WWE definitely followed through with the tagline for SummerSlam, where they promised, "You'll Never See It Coming". According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE superstars backstage were unaware that Roman was returning last night. WWE kept this even secret to WWE talent out with the speculation of getting leaked.

Before his SummerSlam 2020, return, Roman Reigns had last wrestled Baron Corbin. The following month at Super ShowDown, Reigns defeated Corbin in a steel cage match to end their feud. The following night on SmackDown, Reigns challenged Goldberg for the Universal Championship, leading to a match between the two being set up for WrestleMania 36.

However, on April 3, it was announced that Braun Strowman would replace Reigns at the event, after Reigns opted to pull out of the event amid concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, due to Reigns being immunocompromised from his leukemia.
