Umesh, De Villiers star as RCB get off the mark
How often we see, AB De Villiers guides RCB in tough situations, yesterday was no different. However, he couldn't finish for the team but his knock of 57 runs ensure that RCB get off the mark. If AB was the batting hero, then Umesh Yadav was definitely best bowler of the match. His figures 4-0-23-3 were enough to restrict KXIP from a big total.
Earlier in the match After winning the toss, Virat Kohli elected to field first. KXIP came off to a flier. KL Rahul(Hero of the last match) took charge of Chris Woaks in first over of the innings and hit him for two sixes and a four. But it turned out to be Umesh Yadav's night as he took 3 wickets in an over. He first got Mayank Agarwal on the first ball of the 4th over and then followed Aaron Finch on next delivery, and clean bowled Yuvraj Singh on the last ball of the over. After KXIP reduced 36 for 3, KXIP needed a solid partnership to get a big total. KL Rahul and Karun Nair put on 58 run partnership for 4th wicket. After losing Rahul, KXIP couldn't get going and losing wickets in regular interval, hurt them badly. KXIP couldn't even play full 20 overs. They were bowled out for 155 in 19.2 overs. Rahul made 47 and was the top scorer.
In chase, RCB lost early wicket of McCullum as he got out on the second ball of the innings to Axer Patel. Then came AB De Villiers, he and De Kock put on 54 run stands for the third wicket. De Kock lost his wicket on the score of 87. Both AB and Mandeep were ticking to singles, required rate was increasing. RCB needed 41 runs in last 4 overs and 17th over of Mujeeb was match-defining over in AB hit two sixes and collect 19 of that over. Now equation came down to 22 of 18 balls in RCB favour. AB got out in 19th over of Andrew Tye after scoring 57 of 40 balls including two fours and four sixes.
