Incensed after the match, Gacy wields Spears' chair atop the commentary table.
A hardened Perez reflects on her wide-eyed arrival last year, disgusted by that naivety. She craved universal approval, calling herself foolish for chasing photos with established stars. That wide-eyed girl is gone.
Her former idols offered nothing. Now, she's her own hero. Hailed as NXT's future, she envisioned ushering in a new era. Each big show was a stepping stone, but ultimately, she was cast aside, stripped of her championship. Survival demands self-interest.
Gacy earned a title shot for simply being himself, for bending the rules. Perez feels nothing for her opponent, Lyra - indifference reigns. Lyra merely holds the title that rightfully belongs to Perez.
At Stand and Deliver, the gold will be reclaimed. It will be back in its rightful hands.
