Pittsburgh, 2 September - Here is the live coverage for The 2023 Payback which will take place during Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and will be the first Payback held since 2020.

The title "Payback" seems fitting for this Saturday's WWE pay-per-view, as many of the company's top stars are heading into the event with revenge on their minds. The card promises an array of exciting matchups, including a steel cage clash and a street fight, as well as several championship bouts.



Two notable matches are on the horizon. Becky Lynch is set to face Trish Stratus inside a steel cage. Stratus has been using shortcuts to gain an advantage over Lynch for months, and now "The Man" will have the opportunity to confront her WWE Hall of Fame opponent in an environment where there are no easy escapes.

Similarly, the world heavyweight champion, Seth Rollins, is seeking payback as he faces off against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Our hosts are Jackie Redmond and Kayla Braxton. They're joined by Peter Rosenberg, Booker T, and Wade Barrett. They review the Payback card. A video package highlights the Tag Title Match. Wade chooses The Judgment Day. Booker and Peter go with Sami and Kevin. Another video package focuses on Miz and LA Knight. Wade, Booker, and Peter all predict LA Knight as the winner. A video package showcases Cody Rhodes.

Grayson Waller joins the panel to discuss hosting Cody. Waller hints at Cody having big news to reveal on the Grayson Waller Effect. He thinks Austin Theory will win the US Title tonight and mentions John Cena's possible involvement. Kayla asks Waller about his prediction for the Miz/Knight match. Waller predicts Miz's victory and a lesson for LA Knight.

Booker inquires about Waller's takeover of the main roster. Waller talks about his involvement with Edge, John Cena, and Cody Rhodes, claiming they seek him out for relevance. He praises Cody's superstar demeanor but downplays Cody's ability to compete with him.



Wade advises Waller not to provoke Cody. Waller provocatively suggests he wants Cody to punch him to go viral. They return with a video package featuring Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus. Wade and Booker pick Trish, while Peter chooses Becky.

Another video package highlights Raquel vs. Rhea. Wade picks Rhea, Booker picks Raquel, and Peter goes with Rhea. They discuss the US Title match between Austin Theory and Rey Mysterio. Steel Cage Match: Trish Stratus Vs Becky Lynch

As the bell rings to start the match, Trish and Becky stand across from each other. Trish tries to make a quick exit through the door, but Becky prevents her. Trish evades Becky's attempts at a Manhandle Slam and heads for the ropes to climb. Becky catches up and delivers forearms, sending Trish into the turnbuckles. Becky chops Trish and blocks a kick, then hits three exploders in a row. Becky attempts to toss Trish into the cage, but Trish blocks it. Trish tries to send Becky into the cage, but Becky avoids it. Trish kicks Becky, climbs the cage, and Becky follows suit. They exchange punches on the top rope until Becky knocks Trish down. Trish pulls Becky off the turnbuckle and smashes her face into the cage. Trish repeats this a few times.

Trish stretches Becky in the ropes and kicks her into the cage. She pushes Becky's face against the cage and chokes her in the ropes. Becky fights back with forearms, but Trish responds with a spinebuster for a near fall. Becky prevents Trish from reaching the door and rolls her up for a near fall. Trish also gets a near fall. Trish slams Becky into the cage again and fish hooks her before resuming the attack. Trish kicks Becky and slams her face into the mat. She chokes Becky in the ropes once more. Becky retaliates by sending Trish into the cage multiple times and lawn darting her into it. Becky gets a near fall, attempts the DisArmHer, but Trish blocks it. Trish inches closer to the door, sending Becky into the cage again. Trish executes a matrix move, but Becky hits a leg drop when Trish hangs on too long.

Becky lands a forearm, and Trish counters. They exchange blows, with Becky delivering a European uppercut and back heel kick. Becky sends Trish into the cage, and they send each other into it repeatedly. Becky uses a springboard side kick and smashes the back of Trish's head into the cage. A guillotine leg drop off the ropes by Becky earns her a near fall. She continues with a running forearm and corner kicks to Trish. Trish pushes Becky into the cage and attempts a handstand rana, but Becky blocks it. Trish pulls herself up, and they exchange forearms. Trish climbs over Becky and reaches the top of the cage, but she kicks Becky down. Becky grabs Trish off the top and power bombs her for a near fall.

Trish elbows Becky to thwart a Manhandle Slam, then kicks her and executes Widow's Peak for a near fall. Trish slams Becky's head into the mat repeatedly. She sets up for Stratusfaction, but Becky escapes and hits a Twist of Fate for a near fall. Becky's knee gives out, and Trish lands Stratusfaction for a near fall. Trish aims for a boot to the midsection, climbs the cage, and Becky stops her. Trish reaches the top, and Becky pulls her back in. Trish delivers a forearm on the ropes, and Becky counters with punches. Becky goes for a Manhandle Slam off the top rope, but Trish elbows and kicks her. Trish bulldogs Becky off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Trish climbs the cage, reaching the top. Becky slams Trish's face into the top of the cage, and they exchange punches.

Becky is knocked back into the cage and then to the mat. Trish gets over the top and starts to descend, but Becky pulls her back up to the cage's peak. Trish punches Becky, and Becky gets Trish on top of the cage. Becky punches Trish, who ends up caught on the cage's top and hangs from it. Becky pulls Trish to a vertical position, and they continue to brawl. Trish frees herself, and Becky sets up for a superplex, successfully executing it. Becky nearly gets the three-count. She starts climbing the cage, but Trish crawls toward the door. Becky tries to stop Trish, but Zoey intervenes, pulling Trish toward the door. Becky and Zoey engage in a tug of war with Trish, with Becky pulling Trish back in and Zoey slamming the door into Becky's face. Trish nearly gets the win with a rollup, but Becky avoids a Chick Kick and lands a Manhandle Slam. Zoey breaks up the pin. Zoey tries to pull Trish to the door, but Becky shuts it.

Becky and Zoey trade punches, and Zoey hits a clothesline. Trish climbs the cage while Becky gives Zoey a Manhandle Slam. Becky drags Trish back into the cage, sends her head into the cage, and hits a Super Manhandle Slam for the three-count.

WINNER: Becky Lynch

After the match, Zoey offers assistance to Trish, but Trish rejects her help and slaps Zoey, instructing her to leave the cage. Zoey complies and closes the cage door, then surprises Trish with a move called Z360. Now, it's time for the host of tonight's show, John Cena, to enter the ring.

John extends a warm welcome to everyone at Payback. He commends the opening match as awesome and mentions that while he's accomplished a lot in his twenty years, he's never been a host. He couldn't pass up the opportunity to be here tonight. John's role as the host is to make this evening special, and there's no better way than becoming the "Special" Guest Referee for a match he's had his eye on for a while, the showdown between LA Knight and The Miz.

The Miz makes his way to the ring and voices his surprise at John's actions. He expected this from LA Knight but not from John Cena. Miz accuses John of pandering to the audience despite being known as the Greatest of All Time. Miz suggests that as a host, John isn't doing a good job.

John Cena, looking for advice, asks Miz how he can improve as a host. Miz responds by telling John that he shouldn't insert himself into a match as a referee. John Cena humorously acknowledges that being a referee was his one idea and requests other advice. Miz criticizes John for appearing as a MerMan in a Barbie movie, suggesting he should have declined the role.

Despite his dislike for Miz, John Cena expresses respect for him and seeks his guidance to make the night special.

Miz, drawing from his experience as a host, suggests that Cena needs to be more involved. He recounts his own time as the host of Wrestlemania, where he participated in two matches. Miz also pokes fun at Cena's attire, claiming that while he wore a $10,000 suit, Cena looks like a Teletubbie at almost 50 years old. He advises Cena to be more engaged in the proceedings.

John Cena agrees to be the guest referee in Miz's match, but Miz immediately rejects the idea.

Miz argues that Cena doesn't have a referee shirt, to which Cena magically produces one. Cena announces that he will indeed be the special guest referee for Miz's match, while Miz continues to object. They engage in a playful back-and-forth exchange.

Miz Vs LA Knight with Special Guest Referee John Cena

The match kicks off as the bell rings, and Miz quickly exits to the floor to evade a charging LA Knight. Knight kindly holds the ropes open for Miz, who decides he's had enough and starts walking toward the backstage area. However, Knight pursues Miz, causing Miz to turn around and miss a clothesline.

Knight takes control with a flurry of punches and takedowns. Miz counters with punches and a back elbow. They engage in a punch exchange, but Knight gains the upper hand. Knight executes a suplex and positions Miz on the turnbuckles, attempting a superplex. Miz blocks it and drops Knight face-first onto the mat. Miz follows up with a double sledge off the turnbuckles and a chop. Knight fights back with a power slam and a series of punches.

Knight goes for a suplex, but Miz escapes and looks to hit a Skull Crushing Finale. Knight manages to break free and attempts a BFT (Billionaire's Finishing Touch), but Miz also escapes and retreats to the outside. Knight catches Miz with a baseball slide, sending him into the ring steps.

Knight continues his attack, smashing Miz into the announce table multiple times. He briefly enters the ring to break the count but returns to the outside to send Miz into the ringside barrier. Miz retaliates by returning the favor, sending Knight into the ringside barrier a few times. Miz then reenters the ring, only to go back outside and charge at Knight. Knight counters with a back body drop that sends Miz crashing into the timekeeper's area. Knight later hits a springboard clothesline off the ringside barrier onto Miz.

Miz counters with punches and kicks to the midsection, followed by choking Knight in the corner. John Cena, the special guest referee, intervenes and warns Miz. Knight resumes the offense with clotheslines and corner kicks, but Cena forcefully pulls him out of the corner as he nears a five-count. Knight exchanges words with Cena, providing an opening for Miz to strike Knight from behind.

Miz takes advantage by choking Knight in the ropes and raking his face. Knight manages to land a boot on Miz, but Miz responds by putting Knight in the ropes and hitting a hanging Codebreaker. Miz follows up with a reverse chinlock. Knight attempts an Irish whip, but Miz sends him to the apron and pulls him off to the floor. Miz then sends Knight back into the ring and continues with kicks to the chest and back.

Knight attempts to rally but is met with more kicks from Miz. Despite the punishment, Knight avoids a round kick and counters with a belly-to-back suplex, transitioning it into a uranage. Knight unleashes punches and a clothesline, followed by an Irish whip and neck breaker. Knight ascends the turnbuckles for a bulldog and a head kick, securing a near fall. He kicks Miz in the corner and delivers a running hip into the corner.

Knight tries to set Miz up for a Skull Crushing Finale, but Miz evades and rolls through. Miz connects with two DDTs, nearly securing the victory. Miz goes for a Skull Crushing Finale again, but Knight counters with a victory roll for a near fall. Miz attempts a clothesline into the ropes, but Knight counters with a hanging twisting DDT, nearly securing the win.

Miz fights back with a jawbreaker and goes for a rollup, but his hand on the ropes is noticed by Cena, who intervenes and kicks Miz's hand away. Miz and Cena engage in a heated argument. Knight delivers a kick, and Miz avoids a BFT attempt. Knight almost strikes Cena but stops short. Miz seizes the opportunity for a Skull Crushing Finale but falls short. Knight retaliates with a power slam, followed by the "YEAHple's Elbow" and the BFT, ultimately securing the three-count victory.

WWE United States Championship Match: Rey Mysterio Vs Austin Theory

Theory starts by running Rey into the corner, delivering shoulders and a punch. Rey responds with kicks to Theory's head, but Theory counters with a kick of his own after an Irish whip. Rey tries to float over during an Irish whip, but Theory catches him. Theory holds onto the ropes when Rey attempts an O'Connor Roll and follows it up with a clothesline. He then Irish whips Rey and clotheslines him onto the apron. Theory executes a slingshot boot and a fisherman's suplex for a near fall. He picks up Rey for another fisherman's suplex, signaling for a third one, but Rey counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Theory lands a back elbow and gets two more near falls. He locks Rey in a reverse chin lock, but Rey fights back with elbows, eventually getting back to his feet. However, Theory responds with a double thrust to the throat and continues to choke Rey.

Theory punches Rey and delivers a forceful Irish whip that sends Rey sternum-first into the turnbuckles. Theory follows up with punches and attempts to unfasten Rey's mask. Rey counters with elbows to thwart Theory's attempt, and then Rey uses an elbow to send Theory to the mat. Rey executes a moonsault, but both men are down. Rey starts punching Theory and performs a satellite headscissors takedown, sending Theory to the floor. Rey goes for a sliding splash, but Theory gets up, and Rey converts it into a tornado DDT on the floor. Rey follows with a springboard seated splash for a near fall. He continues with forearms and a springboard headscissors takedown. Theory is sent into the ropes, but he manages to escape the 619. When Rey tries to float over, Theory catches him and executes Three Seconds Around the World for a near fall.

Theory tries to get Rey on his shoulders, but Rey escapes. Rey hits an enzuigiri, and Theory goes to the apron, followed by a shoulder and a slingshot rolling dropkick. Rey bounces off the ropes and delivers a dropkick of his own. Theory responds with punches, and Rey counters with kicks. Theory knees Rey, who then sends Theory into the ropes and hits a 619. Theory manages to get his knees up on Rey's springboard splash attempt. Theory goes for A Town Down, but Rey rolls him up in a victory roll for the three-count.

WINNER: Rey Mysterio (retains championship)

Following the match, Rey joins the celebration with the rest of the LWO.

In the backstage area, Cathy Kelley interviews Becky Lynch and inquires about her future plans.

Tiffany Stratton approaches and congratulates Becky while expressing her desire to make amends. She acknowledges her previous comment about Becky never being an NXT champion and offers an apology.

Becky responds by mentioning that she'll be keeping an eye on Tiffany's title match scheduled for Tuesday night.

WWE Tag Team Championship Pittsburgh Steel City Street Fight: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Vs The Judgment Day

All four men square off, engaging in a brawl with punches exchanged between them. Eventually, they spill to the outside. Owens and Priest trade forearms, while Sami and Finn exchange punches. Owens delivers an uppercut to Priest, and Finn attempts to send Sami into the ringside barrier, but Sami blocks it and reverses, sending Finn into the barrier. Sami then throws chairs into the ring, and Finn retaliates by hitting Sami with a kendo stick. Finn proceeds to retrieve more kendo sticks and a bucket filled with Terrible Towels. He stomps on the towels, creating a mess.

Kevin hits Finn with a clothesline, sending him into the announce table, and then strikes him with the kendo stick. Meanwhile, Priest lands a Northern Lariat on Owens and follows it up with a punch. As Finn and Priest trade punches, Sami executes a flip dive onto both Finn and Priest. Kevin and Sami head under the ring to retrieve trash cans, using them to strike Priest. Kevin reveals a Terry Funk shirt and places the trash can on Finn. Both Kevin and Sami swing their kendo sticks, targeting their opponents.

The pair decides to introduce a table into the fray, setting it up on the floor. Kevin grabs another trash can, but Priest kicks him. Priest proceeds to strike Kevin and Sami with the trash can. Priest then punches Kevin, but Kevin counters with kicks and punches of his own. Finn, armed with a chair, hits Sami in the ribs. He grabs another chair and enters the ring, hitting Kevin in the ribs with it. Priest holds Kevin while Finn uses the trash can to strike him. Finn and Priest continue to pummel Sami in the corner.

Finn kicks Sami, sending him to the floor, and follows up with an elbow strike to the bridge of Sami's nose. Meanwhile, Priest adds more chairs into the ring while Finn continues to punch Sami on top of the announce table. However, Priest's chair shot misses its target when Kevin moves, causing Priest to hit the turnbuckles.

Kevin takes advantage of the situation by delivering punches and kicks to Priest. He hits Priest with a chair, but Finn intervenes by using a chair to strike Kevin multiple times. Sami, on the other hand, attacks Finn with the chair, targeting both his midsection and back. Sami then sends Finn to the floor.

Finn and Priest make their way into the crowd, with Kevin and Sami closely following. Kevin throws punches at Priest, while Finn sends Sami into storage cases. The situation takes a turn when Dominik Mysterio enters the scene and attacks Kevin and Sami. They end up sending Kevin and Sami over the dasher boards.

Finn, Damian, and Dominik celebrate their performance momentarily, but Kevin and Sami return wearing Lemieux and Crosby hockey jerseys. They use hockey sticks to hit Priest and Finn. Dominik takes Kevin's stick, and Kevin and Sami drop their gloves, engaging in a brawl with Dominik. They punch Dominik, who then retreats to the backstage area.

Kevin continues to strike Priest and Finn with the hockey sticks, even though he's bleeding. Finn counters Sami with elbows, and Priest holds Sami in place. However, Finn runs into a boot from Sami, and Kevin sends Priest into the ring steps. Sami manages to execute a Blue Thunder Bomb on a pile of chairs for a near fall.

Kevin and Sami arrange chairs in the center of the ring, but Priest interrupts their plans by striking them with the hockey stick. Priest proceeds to execute a Broken Arrow on Sami, who lands on the chairs, earning a near fall. Priest then sends Sami to the floor, while Finn delivers kicks to Kevin, who seems to welcome the punishment.

As Priest holds Kevin in place, Finn connects with a baseball slide, targeting Kevin. However, Kevin retaliates with punches, but Priest hits him with a trash can. Priest follows up by clotheslining Kevin over the ringside barrier and into the crowd. Both Priest and Finn continue to assault Kevin as they make their way up the aisle. Kevin puts up a fight, landing punches on Finn. Nonetheless, Priest strikes Kevin from behind, and Sami reenters the fray, attacking Priest from behind as well.

The skirmish leads them to the Kickoff Show set, where Finn punches Kevin. Sami sends Finn into a table and then performs a swanton onto both Finn and Priest. Dominik intervenes, punching Sami and delivering a kick. Kevin retaliates by punching Dominik and sending him into a production case.

Kevin proceeds to set up a table, and after punching Dominik, he places him onto the table. Kevin then climbs to the seating area and positions himself on the railing, preparing for a swanton onto Dominik.

Sami executes an exploder into the turnbuckles on Finn. He readies himself for a Helluva Kick, but Priest throws a trash can at Sami, allowing Finn to secure a near fall. Finn and Priest confer on their next move. Priest prepares for a Razor's Edge, but Sami regains his footing and crotches Finn. Sami follows up with an exploder on Priest into the turnbuckles.

Sami then delivers a forearm, knocking Finn off the apron and through a table. Sami sets up for the Helluva Kick, but Priest grabs Sami by the throat. Kevin intervenes with a stunner on Priest, while Sami manages to land a Helluva Kick on Priest. JD pulls Sami out of the ring, and Kevin retaliates with a clothesline and punches, ultimately power bombing JD onto the announce table. Rhea comes into play by running Kevin through the ringside barrier.

Meanwhile, inside the ring, Finn and Sami both struggle to get to their feet. Finn executes a sling blade and follows it up with a running dropkick, sending Sami into the turnbuckles. Finn ascends to the top rope but misses the Coup de Grace. Sami counters with an exploder into the turnbuckles, followed by a Helluva Kick. However, Dominik hits Sami with the briefcase, allowing Finn to secure the three-count victory.

WINNERS: The Judgment Day (new champions)

The Grayson Waller Effect with guest Cody Rhodes

The Grayson Waller Effect" with special guest Cody Rhodes begins, and Grayson Waller introduces his guest by noting that both he and Cody share a common trait – they struggle to finish a story. He then welcomes Cody Rhodes to the show.

Cody attempts to ask a question to the Pittsburgh crowd, but Waller interjects rudely, stating that no one cares about what Pittsburgh wants to discuss. Waller asserts that all that matters is what he wants to talk about, particularly Cody's big announcement. Waller acknowledges hearing rumors and speculations surrounding Cody's career, highlighting the ups and downs he has experienced. Waller asserts that Cody sought to be on his show for the "Grayson Waller rub" and claims that this is the beginning of something significant.

Cody responds by mocking Waller's limited experience in the wrestling world, suggesting that Waller is likely familiar with various wrestling shows. Cody challenges Waller to say something that would get under his skin and threatens to take off his tie and physically confront Waller, even joking about knocking over some Hooters decorations. Cody then hints at a major announcement, asking Waller if he watches Raw and NXT, and he teases that he saw an issue that needed addressing. Cody finally reveals the newest member of Raw, Jey Uso.

Jey and Cody acknowledge each other, and Jey heads into the ring, greeted with a positive crowd reaction.

Waller, in a sarcastic tone, welcomes Jey back, mentioning his two-week absence. He proceeds to question Jey about his feelings regarding being on Raw and his transition from being a part of a twin tag team and the Bloodline to pursuing success as an individual. Waller implies that Jey hasn't achieved much in his singles career and questions if he can find success on Raw.

In response, Jey abruptly silences Waller with a superkick.

Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley Vs Raquel Rodriguez

They engage in a lockup, and Rhea initially backs Raquel into the corner. However, Raquel quickly turns the tables, pushing Rhea back. Rhea applies a side headlock and maintains her grip even when Raquel tries to send her off the ropes. Both women attempt shoulder tackles, but neither budges. They exchange words, and Rhea misses a punch but retaliates by grabbing Raquel's hair.

Raquel manages to lift Rhea, but Rhea regains her footing, and Raquel responds with a shoulder tackle of her own. Rhea rolls to the outside, and Raquel pulls her back onto the apron, only for Rhea to drop her on the top rope. Raquel counters with a knee to the midsection and starts delivering punches to Rhea in the corner.

Rhea attempts a kick, but Raquel blocks an Irish whip. Rhea goes for a short-arm clothesline, but Raquel stands firm, not budging. Rhea tries again with the same result.

Rhea attempts once more, and Raquel counters with a clothesline that misses. Raquel follows up with a Northern Lariat. Rhea manages to escape a slam attempt and sweeps Raquel's leg. Raquel kicks Rhea away, and Rhea responds with a dropkick. Rhea proceeds to punch Raquel and delivers a knee to the midsection, followed by sending Raquel into the turnbuckles and choking her there. Rhea continues with kicks to Raquel's ribs and a forearm to her back. She poses briefly before working on Raquel's back, delivering elbows while taunting her. Rhea kicks Raquel in the midsection, sends her into the ropes, and kicks the ropes while Raquel leans against them. Rhea adds more kicks to Raquel.

Raquel counters with punches to the midsection. Rhea, undeterred, answers with a dropkick, followed by forearms and punches. Rhea also delivers a chop and a forearm to the back of Raquel's head while showing her the blood from her nose. Raquel grabs Rhea by the throat, but Rhea escapes, only for Raquel to retaliate with clotheslines and another Northern Lariat. Raquel follows up with a fallaway slam and a splash in the corner. She heads to the turnbuckles but gets tripped by Rhea, causing her to hang from the ropes. Rhea then kicks Raquel in the back and the midsection. Rhea moves to the apron and then to the turnbuckles, delivering multiple headbutts as Raquel hangs from the turnbuckles. Raquel counters by kicking Rhea off the turnbuckles.

Raquel lands a forearm to Rhea's back and executes a delayed vertical suplex. She goes back to the turnbuckles and hits a twisting double jump twisting elbow drop for a near fall. Raquel prepares for a Tejana Bomb, but Rhea escapes. Rhea hits a headbutt and a facebuster following a belly-to-back suplex. She adds a running knee for a near fall. Rhea sets up for RipTide, but Raquel escapes. Raquel, in turn, sets up for a powerbomb, but Rhea manages to escape and hits the ropes. Raquel gets a near fall and proceeds to run Rhea into the turnbuckles and deliver some shoulder strikes. Raquel follows with a forearm and attempts a superplex. However, Rhea fights back with a headbutt and becomes trapped in the ropes. Rhea clips Raquel's leg, setting up for the Prism Lock, and applies it. Rhea punches Raquel's leg to inflict more damage. Raquel counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Raquel then executes a power slam, leaving both competitors down.

Raquel slaps Rhea, prompting Rhea to punch back. They engage in a furious exchange of punches, with Raquel eventually gaining the upper hand by delivering a boot that sends Rhea sprawling to the floor. From the apron, Raquel swings Rhea forcefully into the ringside barrier.

World Championship Match: Seth Rollins Vs Shinsuke Nakamura

In their intense match, Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura initially try to gain the upper hand in a series of technical exchanges. The sequence includes waist locks, wrist locks, hammer locks, and head scissors. They engage in a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock, with Rollins ultimately transitioning into a side headlock. After backing Rollins into the ropes, Nakamura taunts him by rubbing his back. The battle continues with both competitors aiming to assert their dominance.

Nakamura takes control with a series of kicks in the corner, targeting Seth Rollins. He attempts to work on Seth's knee but Seth manages to escape to the apron. Seth then executes a knee drop and follows it up with a suicide dive to take down Nakamura. He proceeds to slam Nakamura into the announce table and taunts him with a slap to the face. Seth goes towards the ringside barrier, but Nakamura recovers and press slams Seth onto the table, causing him to bounce off and crash to the floor. Nakamura goes for the cover, but Seth kicks out at two. The action intensifies as both competitors look to gain the upper hand in this hard-fought contest.

Nakamura continues his assault on Seth Rollins, putting him in the ropes and delivering kicks to the back. He then places Seth on the turnbuckles and executes a running knee to the midsection, followed by another running knee for a near fall. Nakamura transitions into a camel clutch, further targeting Seth's back. He continues with more kicks to the back, inflicting punishment on his opponent. Seth manages to slap Nakamura, but Nakamura responds with a backbreaker, attempting another pinfall, but Seth kicks out at the last moment. Nakamura places Seth over the apron and delivers a running knee and a knee drop, causing Seth to fall to the floor. Nakamura goes for another pin attempt but falls short.

Nakamura maintains control with a single-leg crab applied to Seth. He then rushes Seth into the turnbuckles, attempting to maintain his dominance. Nakamura climbs the turnbuckles, but Seth fights back with a series of chops. Seth positions himself on the turnbuckles, looking to execute a superplex, but Nakamura thwarts his efforts. Seth resorts to a Frankensteiner to take Nakamura down. Both competitors exchange forearm strikes, with Seth delivering a barrage of forearms, only to receive a stiff forearm from Nakamura in return.

Seth executes a sling blade, and then he ascends to the top turnbuckle, hitting a frog splash on Nakamura for a near fall. Nakamura manages to block Seth's power bomb attempt, but Seth still lifts Nakamura off the mat. However, Nakamura lands on his feet, and Seth follows up with a short-arm clothesline for a near fall.

Seth slaps Nakamura, mocking him about his injured back. He attempts the Stomp but misses, allowing Nakamura to go for a sleeper hold. Seth fights back with elbow strikes to block a reverse exploder suplex. Nakamura responds with a knee strike off the turnbuckle, earning a near fall. Nakamura continues his offense with knees targeting Seth's ribs and chest, followed by a slam and a suplex.

Nakamura positions Seth in the ropes and delivers kicks, finishing with a sliding German suplex for another near fall. He then executes a reverse exploder suplex, setting up for Kinshasa, but Seth counters with a superkick for a near fall. Seth delivers forearm strikes, and Nakamura avoids a rolling elbow, transitioning into an armbar and then a triangle choke. Seth momentarily lifts Nakamura, but his back gives out. Despite the pain, Seth refuses to tap out and eventually escapes with a one-armed sit-out powerbomb, gaining a near fall.

Both competitors exchange fierce forearms while face-to-face. Seth attempts King's Landing, but Nakamura evades it, hitting a spinning heel kick. Seth retaliates with an enzuigiri, leaving both men down. Seth climbs to the top turnbuckle for a Phoenix Splash, but Nakamura recovers and crotches him. Nakamura also ascends the turnbuckles, hoisting Seth onto his shoulders and executing a Landslide for another near fall.

Nakamura connects with Kinshasa and sets up for a second one, but Seth collapses. Nakamura tries to pick Seth up, but Seth responds with a slap and a chop. Nakamura counters with kicks and knee strikes, focusing on Seth's back.

Nakamura attempts to suplex Seth into the ring, but Seth lands on his feet. They engage in a series of standing switches, and Seth counters with a knee strike followed by a Pedigree. Seth charges at Nakamura, who counters with a boot to the face. Seth then surprises Nakamura with a sunset flip for a near fall, immediately followed by a Stomp. Seth secures the three-count victory.

WINNER: Seth Rollins (retains championship)
