Rashmika Mandanna Opens Up On Her Role In Thalapathy 66

Chennai, June 11 - Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna has truly come a long way in just a short span of her career. She is currently one of the busiest actresses in the country who has been working across different languages.## Rashmika is also a part of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie, tentatively titled "Thalapathy 66". The "Pushpa" actress is playing the female lead opposite Thalapathy and this has always been her dream to act with the superstar. ## The 26-year-old actress, during a recent interview with Filmfare, opened up about her role in the movie and said, "The character I am playing in the film is fiercely headstrong. She is someone who stands up for herself and is supportive and protective of her people". She added that Thalapathy 66 is a film for families, which she always wanted to do".## Rashmika has always been a huge fan of Thalapathy Vijay. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj To Explore Dilli's Background Story In Kaithi 2

Chennai, June 10 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is in the top form as he has delivered another blockbuster in the form of "Vikram", fronted by Kamal Haasan. Lokesh has directed only 4 films till now and all of them have been huge box office hits. ## Meanwhile, the talented filmmaker is creating his own cinematic universe and "Vikram" is the second film in that. It continues from Karthi's "Kaithi" which made Lokesh an overnight sensation. The director is now working on the sequel to 2019's film and it will be his next film in his unofficial LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). ## During the recent Twitter session with fans, director Lokesh gave hints about Arjun Das's character, and now, he has revealed basic plot details of the movie. "Kaithi 2" will mainly focus on Karthi's character 'Dilli' and will showcase his background story. ## Lokesh Kanagaraj, during the success meet of "Vikram", revealed that Dilli is a Kabbadi player and won many cups while he was in jail. In the original movie, Dilli carried a bag with him and Lokesh revealed that there were cups in his bags which he won while playing Kabbadi in jail. As he didn't explore the aforementioned things in the first part, he will mainly focus on Dilli's background story and Kabbadi. ## There is no shooting timeline set yet for "Kaithi 2". Lokesh will next focus on Thalapathy Vijay's film which is expected to begin later this year. Chennai, June 8 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has become the talk of the town after delivering another blockbuster in the form of Kamal Haasan-fronted "Vikram". The director is creating his own cinematic universe called 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe', and "Vikram" is the second film in it.## The first film in LCU was Karthi's "Kathi" (2019), which became a huge hit and made Kanagaraj an overnight sensation. Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' Tops 100 Crores Worldwide In Two Days

Chennai, June 5 - Raaj Kamal Films International's production, Vikram is putting up a sensational show at the box office not only domestically but overseas also. The Kamal Haasan-fronted movie was expected to score big but it has exceeded those expectations by a big margin by collecting 100 crores worldwide gross in just two days. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" took the second-biggest opening for a Tamil movie in 2022 with 37.5 crores gross at the domestic box office. It grossed 23.10 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, which is the 3rd biggest in 2022. With super positive word of mouth, the action thriller put up one of the strongest holds on the second day, grossing 33.6 crores for a total of 71.1 crores domestic gross. ## "Vikram" dropped a little over 10% on the second day (Saturday), which is probably the lowest dip ever for a top-tier Tamil movie. Usually, South Indian films tend to take a huge drop on the second day which was not the case with "Vikram" which remained almost unbreakable. In Tamil Nadu, it did gross a fantastic 20.10 crores on Saturday, boosting the total gross to 43.30 crores in the home state. ## Meanwhile, the overseas box office collection of "Vikram" is also phenomenal with 32 crores gross in two days. In the USA, the movie has grossed $1.3 million (10.08 crores) so far. The total worldwide gross of the movie now stands at 103.10 crores, which is the fastest ever for a Kamal Haasan movie. ## "Vikram" was released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu languages. While Tamil collections are extraordinary, the movie has done very well in Telugu states by grossing 7.5 crores in two days. Box Office: Vikram First Saturday Early Estimates; Remarkable Hold

Chennai, June 4 - Tamil blockbuster "Vikram" has had an excellent opening day at the box office, which actually was the second biggest for a Tamil movie in 2022 with 37.50 crores gross. The opening of this Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed was by far the biggest ever for legendary Kamal Haasan who plays the title role while Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil play prominent roles along with a cameo of Suriya. Produced by RKFI, "Vikram" showed a remarkable hold on its second day and scored an estimated 27 crores net for all languages. This is one of the biggest holds for a top-tier Tamil movie as most of the films tend to take a huge drop on the second day. "Vikram" had the third biggest opening of 2022 in Tamil Nadu with 23.10 crores gross. On Saturday, the movie scored another estimated 19.50 crores in the state, pushing two days' Tamil Nadu total to over 42 crores. The domestic gross also reached about approx. 70 crores in two days while worldwide has crossed 90 crores mark. Box Office: Vikram Takes Second Biggest Opening For A Tamil Movie of 2022

Chennai, June 4 - Legendary Kamal Haasan's action thriller "Vikram" has set the box office on fire and takes the second-biggest opening for a Tamil movie in 2022. With sky-high expectations, the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie set all-time record for Kamal Haasan. For the record, "Vikram" scored Rs. 32.05 crores net (37.50 crores gross) on the first day. This includes 29.00 crores in Tamil, followed by 2.80 crores in Telugu and 25 lakh in Hindi version. Produced by RKFI, "Vikram" is behind only Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast" which scored 57.40 crores gross on the first day. Ajith Kumar's "Valimai" made 37.10 crores gross. Meanwhile, in the home state, Tamil Nadu, the Kamal Haasan-starrer is the 3rd biggest in 2022. It minted 23.10 crores gross, behind 32.50 crores of "Beast" and 29.60 crores of "Valimai". Kamal Haasan Confirms His Next Film After 'Vikram'; Also Gives Update On Shankar's 'Indian 2'

Chennai, June 3 - Legendary Kamal Haasan returned to the action with Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed "Vikram", which has taken a massive opening in Tamil Nadu. The movie got excellent reviews and the word of mouth from the audience is also super positive, which is expected to lead the movie to record the biggest opening weekend of 2022 for a Tamil movie. ## Meanwhile, the iconic actor has already locked his next film after "Vikram". During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Kamal Haasan confirmed that his next movie is with Mahesh Narayanan, who won appreciation with Fahadh Faasil's political thriller, "Malik". ## "I have a commitment with Mr. Mahesh Narayanan. He began his career with me as a cinematographer and editor. We seem to understand each other and I have completed a script for me. We are tweaking it a bit and plan to hit the floors by July end, early August", said the actor. ## Kamal Haasan was supposed to complete director Shankar's "Indian 2". It has already been shot around 40%, but the shoot was eventually put on hold due to budget issues and multiple other problems. The actor confirmed that the movie will happen as it is not shelved. ## "We had so many things coming in between, apart from the fact that it's a very big film. We had COVID, we had an accident on the set where people died. It's so unnerving but we continued. I run a white elephant called Raaj Kamal Films and Mr. Shankar runs a company called S Productions. These are the white elephants that we need to feed, so we go out and work", he added. ## "Indian 2" is a vigilante action thriller that is the sequel to the 1996 film. Kamal Haasan And Suriya To Reunite For A New Film After 'Vikram'

Chennai, June 1 - Tamil superstar Suriya has been in the news for his work for the last two years. The actor is now making waves for his cameo role in legendary Kamal Haasan's "Vikram", which is slated to hit screens on June 3rd. Kamal Haasan has played the title role alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" will feature Suriya in an important cameo and his role is said to paving a way for the film's sequel. Kamal Haasan has already confirmed that whenever Vikram sequel will be made, Suriya will be playing the lead role and the movie will also be produced by his home banner Raaj Kamal Films. ## Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has confirmed one more film with Suriya under his home banner.
