Maddock Films Unveils Trailer of Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao's Horror Comedy 'Stree 2'

Mumbai, July 18 - Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios has unveiled the highly-anticipated trailer of horror-comedy Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the Stree 2 trailer shows the gang of Chanderi reuniting to fight "Sarkata", a ghost who is causing havoc in Chanderi. Mumbai, July 17 - Superstar Salman Khan-fronted comedy-drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan remains a milestone in his illustrious career and a defining work for director Kabir Khan. The film is widely hailed as one of Salman's finest performances to date, with many critics and fans considering it the emotional peak of his acting journey. ## Released on 17 July 2015, just before Eid, Bajrangi Bhaijaan opened to a thunderous response across the country. Dharma Productions' Clarifies On The Rumours of 'Kill' Remake

Mumbai, July 16 - Producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has issued an official statement on the recent speculations about the remake rights of its action thriller Kill which is currently playing in theatres and doing decent business.## Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill was announced to be remade in Hollywood by John Wick director Chad Stahelski even before the film's official release in India on July 5. Box Office: 'Sarfira' and 'Indian 2' First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 14 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira has a low first weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 12 crores net which is one of the lowest for the actor in many many years. ## Sarfira opened to poor numbers which proved to be fatal for the movie despite the good jump in the collection. On its first Sunday/third day, the movie scored an estimated 5-5.25 crores net, jumping around 20% from yesterday, for around 12 crores opening weekend. ## These are good collections for a non-star film but for someone like Akshay Kumar along with a top star cast, 12 crores weekend is disappointing. There is an appreciation for the movie but it hasn't been able to covert this into footfalls in large numbers. ## To have some sort of legs at the box office, Sarfira will have to beat the opening-day collection and try to come close to second-day figures of around 4 crores on its make-or-break first Monday. It, however, won't be easy due to competition and a proper working day. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) remained in the similar range as yesterday as estimates suggest the first Sunday collection around 1.30 crores net for approximately 3.80 crores opening weekend in Hindi which is very poor. ## The movie witnessed a drop of around 15% in the collection for all languages on its third Sunday for an estimated 17.50+ crores gross (15+ crores net). All India opening weekend of Indian 2 is around 69+ crores gross (59 crores net) which is underwhelming as there were huge expectations from the film. Mumbai, July 13 - After the low start, Akshay Kumar's Sarfira witnessed a jump of around 70% on its second day, however, the overall collection remains low due to the poor start which was one of the lowest for the actor in many many years.## According to the early estimates, Sarfira has earned in the range of 4-4.25 crores net on its first Saturday/second day, pushing the total to around 6.50+ crores net in 2 days which is poor collection. The movie needed to score a jump of over 100% today, although it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the lost ground it could have given the movie some sort of momentum. ## The word of mouth for the movie is positive but to say that it will make any positive difference to the overall collection is tough to guess because these kinds of films have been struggling to bring crowds to the theatres in large numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend total is headed to finish around 12 crores net.## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) hasn't seen any growth today as estimates suggest the second-day collection of the dubbed version to be around 1.25 crores net, pushing the total to approx. 2.50 crores net in two days as opening weekend heading for around 4 crores net.## There was some drop in the collection of the Telugu version of the film as the first Saturday estimates for all versions of Indian 2 suggest the collection to be around 20 crores gross (17 crores net) for around 50 crores total domestic gross in two days. Box Office: 'Sarfira' and 'Indian 2' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 12 - Akshay Kumar's drama film Sarfira takes a low start at the box office with poor occupancy throughout the day. The movie was expected to see some boost due to the positive reviews which don't seem happening as it opens in the range of Selfiee. ## Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, has had pre-sales between Akshay Kumar's previous two low starters, Selfiee and Mission Raniganj which indicated a low start which turns out to be true as it scored an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores net opening day. ## The movie was always going to open in a similar range due to its remake status which has struggled in the post-COVID era, and its subject which doesn't have mass appeal. The initial word of mouth, however, seems to be positive which can come into play over the weekend but it will be hard for it to make up for the very low opening. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) also has a poor start which was expected due to negligible pre-sales. As per the early estimates, the movie is expected to open in the range of 1.25 crores net collection which might vary on either side when the actuals come. ## Indian 2, however, has a much better showing in all versions on its opening day as it is expected to score an estimated 25-26 crores net (30-31 crores gross) collection. The movie has opened on the expected lines with a slightly lower of the optimistic projections. ## In Tamil Nadu, it is expected to gross in the range of 13+ crores, followed by 9-10 crores in Telugu states which is a good collection. Box Office: Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, July 11 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira, a remake of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru, is finally hitting the big screens on July 12 after multiple delays and postponements. The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara who also directed the original movie starring Suriya. ## Sarfira has been the most anticipated new movie for the last couple of weeks, as per the IMDb's real-time popularity but the pre-sales response is telling a completely different story. The advance booking of Sarfira opened a couple of days ago but it has been progressing at a snail's pace and is not going anywhere. ## As of 4 PM on July 11, the pre-sales gross collection of Sarfira is only approximately 32 lakh with 15.6K sold for the opening day. With not much time left for the first show to start, the advance sales of the movie are heading for around 50+ lakh for the opening day which is very low. ## In comparison to the previous movies of Akshay, the pre-sales of Sarfira are trending a little above Selfiee which finished opening day sales at just around 40 lahks, and below Mission Raniganj (76 lakh gross), which are among the lowest for the actor in many years. Varun Dhawan's Rom-Com With Director David Dhawan Gets A Title

Mumbai, July 10 - Bollywood star Varun Dhawan has reunited with his director father David Dhawan for a romantic comedy for the 4th time, after Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No.1. Unlike the previous three films, the upcoming one is an original script. ## Recently, it was revealed that Mrunal Thakur and Sreeleela (Bollywood debut) would be playing the female lead roles, and now, the quirky title of the movie has also been revealed as the shoot has commenced today in Mumbai. ## According to the Pinkvilla report, the romantic comic caper has been titled, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai which is said to be the sync of the script. It has already been announced to be released on October 2, 2025. It is produced by Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Films.## "It's a fun family entertainer with the love triangle of the trio at the centre. David Dhawan has cracked a concept that’s fresh and original, and is confident to recreate the magic of comedies on the big screen again", says the report. ## It is also reported that the makers are on the verge of bringing together some of the most celebrated comic artists on the screen alongside the lead trio. Manish Paul and Kubra Sait are two other confirmed names and they are shooting for Varun Dhawan in the first schedule.## Varun Dhawan, meanwhile, will next be seen in the action thriller, Baby John, which is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2024, followed by the Karan Johar-produced romantic-comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Dulhania on April 19, 2025. Mumbai, July 10 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar-fronted Sarfira will reportedly host special fan screenings across 7 Indian cities on July 12, on the day of the film's official release.## Directed by Sudha Kongara, the biographical drama film is the remake of actor Suriya's Tami movie Soorarai Pottru, also directed by Kongara. The fan screenings will reportedly take place in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmadabad, Delhi, Indore, Ludhiana, and Jaipur. ## Meanwhile, ahead of the release, the team has had a media screening for Sarfira on July 9. Mumbai, July 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of Sarfira on July 12, will reportedly play a cameo appearance in the highly-anticipated Shraddha Kapoor-starrer horror-comedy Stree 2, which will collide with his Khel Khel Mein on August 15. ## According to the report by Hindustan Times, a source revealed, "Yes it's true. Akshay has a cameo in the Rajkummar Rao - Shraddha Kapoor starrer. The makers felt his comedy timing is impeccable, and his presence even for a few minutes will elevate that particular sequence". ## Interestingly, Akshay's Khel Khel Mein is also a comedy entertainer and if the reports about him playing a cameo in Stree 2 are true, it will be a double bonanza for his fans who want to see him in comedy roles. Director Aditya Dhar Locks Stellar Ensemble Cast For His Next With Ranveer Singh

Mumbai, July 7 - Director Aditya Dhar has been trying to set up his second directorial venture after delivering one of the biggest blockbusters in 2019 with URI: The Surgical Strike. The filmmaker has had difficulties in taking his next film on floors due to financial hurdles. ## Dhar was set to make the ambitious The Immortal Ashwatthama with Vicky Kaushal but due to its massive budget, it was shelved. The filmmaker then started on a new script, touted to be an action thriller and reportedly locked Ranveer Singh to headline it. Now, there is an update on the same. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the movie has tentatively been titled Dhurandhar and Aditya Dhar has locked a stellar ensemble cast for the same. The report states that along with Ranveer Singh, the filmmaker has locked Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal to play pivotal roles. ## The report further said that although the actors are still not contractually signed, they are believed to have been creatively locked, and all other modalities are quickly being worked out. The movie is touted to be a fast-paced, mission-based action thriller.## Dhar will produce the film with his brother Lokesh Dhar under their banner B62 Studios, in partnership with a major studio as the movie will be made on a huge scale with a huge budget and will be shot in India and overseas.
