Hyderabad, 15 Sep 2022: Here is the review of the movie Saakini Daakini.
INTRODUCTION
Saakini Daakini is low budget movie from Suresh productions. The film is an official remake of the 2017 South Korean film Midnight Runners, and stars Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. Let's see how the movie is.
STORY
This film is about how two naive woman Police trainees save 30 abducted teenage girls from A Gang of deadly goons.
ARTIST'S PERFORMANCES
Nivetha Thomas as a hyperactive girl gave a hilarious performance. She is too funny and energetic throughout the film. Regina Cassandra has given a settled and decent performance. Their chemistry on-screen worked out well. Sudarshan and Prudhvi gave a few laughs. Bhanu Chander is decent but underutilised. Amit as Villian's sidekick is good.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
The music is about okay but the BGM is good and in sync with the film's mood. Action choreography should be given a special thumbs up as a couple of fight sequences are shot well. Dialogue writers have done a commendable job which suited both the fun and severe situations in the movie. Editing is crisp as the movie's runtime is under 2 hours. Coming to the director Sudheer Varma, this movie is better than his previous three movies. He made an entertaining and engaging first half. Had he concentrated evenly on the second half and ended the movie in an engaging manner then the movie would have been much better.
THUMPS UP MERITS
Nivetha and Regina's acting and chemistry of the duo.
Dialogues
Entertaining first half
LET DOWN DRAWBACKS
Weak second half.
Too many cinematic liberties are taken in places
No Strong Antagonist
CONCLUSION
The movie starts off well and offers a fun-filled ride until the interval. But the second half moved with predictable narration and lag scenes. Also, certain scenes become repetitive. The Climax missed the tension factor. These movies should be encouraged which showcase woman's power. Overall it's a one-time watchable time-pass movie. If you are okay with predictable second half then give it a shot for its hilarious ride.
