Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Gets Censor Certificate
Mumbai, October 17 - Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited biographical drama Emergency has finally received the censor certificate after a long delay, the national award-winning actress confirmed the same on X.
"We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your patience and support", Kangana posted on X.
Directed and headlined by Kangana, Emergency was supposed to hit the big screens in September this year but was postponed due to the delay in the censor certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The film is based on The Emergency in India, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country by citing internal and external threats to the country.
Produced by Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios, the movie stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.[3][4] The film also features Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
The new release date of the movie will be announced soon.
