Marvel Studios 'Deadpool and Wolverine' Pre-Sales Off To Excellent Response In India

Mumbai, July 22 - Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine is heading to take one of the biggest openings for a Hollywood movie at the Indian box office if the current pre-sales trend remains solid till the film's release on July 26.

Directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles respectively, Deadpool & Wolverine advance booking opened a few days ago and with still 4 days left for the release, it has already sold over 1 lakh tickets for 5+ crores gross collection (including block seats) for the opening day.



Deadpool 3 will look to score one of the biggest pre-sales for a Hollywood title and one of the biggest of the year for any movie which is likely to put it among the top 5 biggest Hollywood openers at the Indian box office, and easily the biggest ever an 'A' rated tentpole.

As of today, 5 Hollywood movies have opened above 30 crores gross opening day collection, with Avengers: Endgame being the biggest with approximately 65 crores gross in India. Deadpool 3 is expected to start with 30+ crores, depending on how the pre-sales go.

Deadpool 3 is intended to be the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). In the film, the Time Variance Authority (TVA) pulls Deadpool from his quiet life and sets him on a mission with Wolverine that will change the history of the MCU.
