Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 'Baahubali' To Become Second Biggest Worldwide Grosser For Prabhas
Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has become the actor's second highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office, after topping SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali on its 8th day of run.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic grossed approximately 641 crores worldwide in the first 7 days, and with its 8th day's collection (2nd Thursday), the movie has topped Baahubali - The Beginning which grossed an estimated 650 crores worldwide in 2015.
Kalki 2898 AD has been on a dream run since its debut on June 27. It became only the 6th Indian movie ever to score 500+ crores worldwide gross collection in the opening weekend and will end the extended first week total to around 675 crores.
As has been the case with Prabhas' recent films, the Hindi version has once again delivered for the actor and added immense value to the overall collection. The dubbed Hindi version is expected to reach around 300 crores net in its lifetime run as the Kalki 2898 AD is aiming to finish around or over 1000 crores worldwide.
The third highest-grossing of Prabhas is director Prashanth Neel's, Salaar - Part 1: Ceasefire which was released in December last year and went on to gross around 618 crores worldwide as one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of the year.
