Director Finalized For Ranbir Kapoor-led 'Dhoom 4'
Mumbai, October 1 - In one of the biggest news, it was recently revealed that Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor would be headlining Yash Raj Films' 4th instalment of the hugely-anticipated action thriller Dhoom franchise, stepping into playing the anti-hero role which has been the USP of the franchise.
Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, Vijay Krishna Acharya has been finalized to direct Dhoom 4. Vijay aka Victor has written the story and screenplay of the previous three films of the franchise and went on to direct Dhoom 3 (2013) which is also the highest-grossing film in the series.
It is said that Victor has also written the script for Dhoom 4 and is now also on board to helm this one, as per the Bollywood Hungama report. Yash Raj Films is yet to officially confirm the development.
Ranbir will play the anti-hero and it is said that none of the original cast will return as Dhoom 4 is a reboot in the literal sense. In the previous three films, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan took on the negative roles, respectively, which has been a driving force of the Dhoom franchise.
The makers looking to cast two young actors to replace Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra who have been a part of all three Dhoom films as cop baddies. The shoot of Dhoom 4 is expected to commence by the end of 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir Kapoor wraps up shooting for Love & War and Ramayana 1 & 2.
