Prabhas-Fronted Box Office Blockbuster 'Kalki 2898 AD' Debuts With 4.50 Million Views On Netflix

Mumbai, August 28 - After the blockbuster performance at the box office, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version debuted with good viewership on Netflix. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie started streaming on August 22, after 8 weeks of theatrical run.

In its 4-day opening weekend, Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version scored 4.5 million views, which is more than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's first 4-day viewership of 2.9 million but behind Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (5.9 million) and Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki (4.9 million).



Kalki was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide during the week of August 19 - August 25 on Netflix. It has been trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Outside Asia, the movie is trending in Mauritius and Nigeria.

Earlier, the Hindi version of Kalki had a strong box office performance with over 400 crores in gross collection worldwide. In India, the movie scored approximately 293 crores in net collection (350 crores gross), which is the second highest of 2024 in the Hindi version.

In all versions, the movie grossed over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, including an estimated 765+ crores gross domestically. It is currently the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2024, followed by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 with 600+ crores gross (14 days).

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, and it follows a select group who are on a mission to save lab subject SUM-80's unborn child, Kalki. It stars Prabhas alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in key roles.
