Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' To Not Release In National Multiplex Chains In Hindi?

Mumbai, September 20 - Thalapathy Vijay's gangster drama Leo is one of the most-anticipated films. Directed by Atlee Kumar, the movie is scheduled to release on October 19 in multiple languages, including Hindi.

According to the latest reports, "Leo" might not be released in the national multiplex chains in the Hindi language. It is said that PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis are not ready to screen the movie without an 8-week theatrical window in the Hindi version.



It has been seen that most of the South Indian movies are made available on OTT after 4 weeks of the theatrical release. In the case of "Leo", it is said that Netflix, which is the official post-theatrical streaming partner of the movie, have kept a 4-week deal in all versions (not confirmed).

The three national multiplex chains are said to have decided not to screen the Hindi version of any Indian film without the OTT agreement of an 8-week gap, and unless, "Leo" makers don't change their decision, the movie won't be released in PIC in Hindi.

"Leo" is carrying positive buzz among Hindi audiences and if the movie does not release in PIC, it will be a massive dent to its box office prospects.

Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, the film stars Thalapathy Vijay in the title role and Trisha Krishnan, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mysskin while Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music. It is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on 19 October 2023 in standard, and IMAX formats.
