Mandhana Recorded The Fastest Fifty In The Kia Supar League

Opener Smriti Mandhana recorded the fastest fifty in the Kia Super League and joint fastest in women's T20s (18 balls) at Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on Sunday, July 29.

Western Storm beat Loughborough Lightning With the help of Mandhana's knock of 52* off 19 balls, in a rain-shortened encounter and also topped the points table with 2 wins in 3 matches.

Due to rain, the match was reduced to 6-over. Loughborough Lightning had won the toss and opted to field first. Mandhana gave the momentum to Storm from ball one. Storm finished on 85 for 2 in 6 overs.

Loughborough Lightning's Sophie Devine and played a quick fire knock of 46* off 21 balls but couldn't take her team through as Loughborough Lightning managed only 67/0 in 6 overs.

Mandhana continued her good run in the tournament, following up scores of 48 and 37. Mandhana also has the most sixes in the tournament so far, 11 by the end of the conclusion of the Sunday clash.
