Remdesivir Manufactures Has Been Ramped Up To 74 Lakh Vials per Month

New Delhi, April 21, 2021: India's is having a huge surge in new coronavirus cases every day. Due to this, demand for Remdesivir (a broad-spectrum antiviral medication developed by the biopharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences) has been increased.

Now, Union Health Ministry has taken the decision to tackle this problem.

Union Health Ministry said, "Seeing the sudden surge in demand for Remdesivir for COVID-19, manufacturers has been ramped up from 38 lakh vials per month to 74 lakh vials per month. Twenty additional manufacturing sites also approved."

Remdesivir was approved or authorized for emergency use to treat COVID‑19.
