Rohit And Rashid Shine In ODI Rankings
Rashid Khan became first Afghanistan's player to reach at number 1 in ICC all-rounders ranking after an impressive showing in Asia Cup, the International Cricket Council confirmed on Sunday (September 30).
Rashid Khan had an excellent tournament where he piched 10 wickets and scored 83 runs including a match-winning 57 against Bangladesh which saw him jump six spots. He is already a number one bowler in T20Is ranking.
Shakib Al Hasan's early exit also helped Rashid to gain top rank. Shakib couldn't play last two match including final (against India) due to injury which cost him one spot. while Mohammad Nabi climbed up one spot to reach the third position.
The tournament also proved to be a productive one for Rohit Sharma as well as he scored 317 runs at an average of 105.66 in 5 innings he played. He led India to their record 7th Asia Cup triumph. Virat Kohli comfortably sitting at the top spot with 884 points.
Rohit Sharma's partner Shikhar Dhawan also make significant move in batsmen's ranking. He jumped 4 places to five. Dhawan was the highest run scorer in the Asia Cup with 342 runs in 5 innings which reward him Man Of The Tournament.
Kuldeep Yadav was also included among the top movers. His ten wickets from six games helped him reach a career-best 700 points. While Jasprit Bumrah remains the top-ranked bowler followed by Rashid, Kuldeep is now chasing them and is at the third spot.
In team's ranking, India gained one point after title triumph and reduced the gap against top-ranked England to just five points.
