Rohit Sharma clears Yo Yo test
India's swashbuckling opener Rohit Sharma has cleared yo-yo test and will be available to play against Ireland and England for limited-overs series.
It was important for Rohit Sharma to clear this test as he had already failed twice to clear it while playing in Indian Premier League.
Yo-yo test is a necessity to clear for selection in the national team. Due to failing in this test, Ambati Rayudu and Mohammad Shami have already been dropped from the ODI and Test squad respectively.
Keep in mind, initially, Ajinkya Rahane put in a standby of Rohit Sharma in case he failed to clear yo-yo test.
Earlier, Ambati Rayudu and Mohammad Shami failed in this test and therefore Left-hander Suresh Raina and Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini named their replacement.
Due to this test, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Washington Sundar had also failed last year but later Raina and Sundar managed to clear it and found their place in the T20 squad.
India will play against Ireland for two T20I match series before heading to England for 3 ODIs, 3 T20s and 5 Tests.
