Kabzaa is an action-packed movie that showcases the rise of the underdog to the helm of the underworld. The film is centered around the hero Arkeshwara, played superbly by Upendra, who brings to life the character's devil-may-care attitude, shrewdness, and double-crosses. While some critics have been less than enthusiastic about the movie, I found it surprisingly good.
Unlike KGF, Kabzaa does not have the same hype and buildup to the hero and villains. However, it has a touch of realism and less of the overly emotional sentiments seen in KGF. The action scenes are decent, and the cinematography is good, but some of it feels like a KGF ripoff.
However, the movie does have its flaws. The characters do not have clear goals, and the movie fails to define who and why someone is a protagonist or antagonist. The character building is poor, and as a result, you won't feel any emotional connection to the story. The movie runs at a very fast pace, and it feels like a lot of the story has been skipped over. There are too many characters in the main storyline who are of no use to the plot, and the poorly written dialogues lack inspiration and have no hooks. The subplots don't direct you to the main plot, and you will only realize what the main plot was after the plot twist, and then the movie ends abruptly.
From a technical standpoint, the poor use of VFX is noticeable, and the songs are uninteresting. The background score has more noise than music, which kills the vibe.
Overall, Kabzaa is a decent masala action movie that is worth watching if you're looking for a realistic take on the rise of an underdog to the helm of the underworld. However, it falls short in many areas, and the lack of character development and clear goals make it difficult to emotionally connect with the story
