Beast Beast is about an ex-RAW agent who seeks to rescue hostages in a shopping mall which has been hijacked by terrorists. Sun Pictures acquired the production rights for Vijay's 65th film in January 2020. AR Murugadoss was initially signed to direct it; however, he was ousted from the film after he refused to cut his remuneration. Nelson was subsequently brought on board, with an announcement in December 2020 under the tentative title Thalapathy 65, and the official title was announced in June 2021. Principal photography commenced in April 2021. It was shot in several locations, including Chennai, Delhi and Georgia, and wrapped by mid-December 2021. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by R. Nirmal

The movie is simply unstoppable as it stormed the viewership chart on Netflix. ## Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi has hit 34.4 million viewing hours on Netflix in the first 20 days, which is simply brilliant. What is more surprising is that it has hit approx. 4 million viewing hours more in the 3rd week than in the second week. ## The movie debuted on Netflix on April 26 after completing its 8-week hit theatrical window and was the number 1 non-English movie worldwide with 13.8 million viewing hours, followed by 8.3 million viewing hours in the second week, lending at number 3. Surpassing all the expectations in the 3rd week (May 9 - May 15), the movie hit 12.2 million viewing hours. ## Gangubai Kathiawadi continues to trend worldwide on Netflix. Currently, it is trending in the top 10 in 23 countries while in week 2, it was trending in 20 nations. For the third week in a row, Gangubai Kathiawadi is the number 1 movie on Netflix in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, and Kuwait, among others. ## Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Hindi version of Thalapathy Vijay's, Beast (Raw) debuted in the top 5 on the streamer with 4.8 million viewing hours. The movie, however, is declining drastically at the domestic box office after the long 5-day opening weekend. ## Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie was released on April 13 and scored 112.3 crores net in the first 5 days. Once the opening ended, the movie plumbed big time and minted only 7.95 crores net in the next 3 days, pushing the domestic net cume to 120.25 crores in 8 days. ## At the overseas box office, "Beast" has made 60.1 crores gross, helping the worldwide cume to go past the 200 crores mark. Box Office Prediction: Will Jersey And Beast Challange KGF: Chapter 2 In Hindi?

Mumbai, April 6 - It is quite strange to use such a headline for an article when we talk about the box office collection in Hindi, but that's how things have become. "KGF: Chapter 2", an outright Kannada movie that will also be released in dubbed versions of other languages including Hindi, is going to be the next big film as far as biz is concerned. ## Having said that, the Yash-fronted movie has been arguably the most-awaited Pan India film that is the second chapter of Kannada's most successful film of all time. While the Hindi dubbed version of the first chapter did score only 44.42 crores net, it was enough to set the tone for the second chapter. Just like SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2", Chapter 2 of KGF is touted to run riot at the Hindi box office, which is the biggest hope for the makers. ## Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment will be distributing "KGF 2" in Hindi in association with AA Films. The film is carrying a similar kind of buzz as "Baahubali 2" in Hindi and that's what makes it a film to watch out for on the box office front. The industry is projecting it to open around 25 crores net but we think it has more potential than that and it could open with 30+ crores. With restrictions on cinemas having been lifted, one would rely on the film to open big considering the kind of potential and buzz it is carrying. ## "KGF: Chapter 2" will have a direct clash in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor-fronted "Jersey", which is the official remake of the Telugu movie of the same name starring Nani. In normal times (without clash), "Jersey" could open a huge start at the box office but the same can't be said this time around, especially when it is up against a mighty competitor "KGF 2". ## However, it is still early to rule out "Jersey" as the makers seem to be very confident about their product that they even refused to send it directly on the OTT platform despite getting big offers. Also, Shahid Kapoor's last release, "Kabir Singh" was a massive blockbuster with a worldwide gross of 377 crores. Shahid has always been a fan favorite but the box office success of Kabir Singh made him one of the most bankbale stars in the Hindi film industry.## Both "KGF 2" and "Jersey" will be released on Thursday on the occasion of Vaishakhi. While the industry is projecting Shahid Kapoor-starrer to open around 10 crores, it could get the benefit of a long Holiday weekend if the word of mouth is strong. But it will be KGF 2, which will have the upper hand throughout the weekend. If Prashanth Neel gets positive reviews, then it will be unstoppable at the Hindi box office. ## There is one more film that will be released during the same weekend is Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast". It will open a day earlier on April 13 on the occasion of Tamil New Year. The makers recently announced that it will also be released in Hindi along with other dubbed versions. While Thalapthy Vijay has some fan following in the North region, the movie, however, is unlikely to pause any challenge to "KGF 2" or "Jersey" unless it turns out to be something extraordinary. It will get the benefit of releasing a day earlier, but the makers don't seem to be too optimistic about its box office prospects in Hindi that they haven't put an extra effort to promote the movie expect releasing a couple of promos. In all likeliness, the opening of "Beast" could be below 3 crores in Hindi, and if it receives incredibly positive WOM, then it could be billed upon that. ## Stay tuned...
