AEW Trios Title: House of Black vs CM Punk & FTR
On this week's AEW Dynamite, it was announced that the House of Black crew is stepping into the ring for Collision. They're up against FTR and CM Punk in a six-person tag match, putting their Trios Titles on the line.
It's gonna be cool to see how this match goes down. Remember, the House of Black holds the Trios Champions title. This match might just get CM Punk some real gold in AEW.
Acclaimed back in action
On the August 5 AEW Collision episode, Acclaimed, consisting of Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, chatted with Tony Schiavone backstage. They talked about how Billy Gunn feels like it's his fault they lost the AEW Trios Title match against The House of Black.
Acclaimed also shared that they had a talk with Gunn, who made it clear that he's sticking with his decision to retire from pro wrestling. They mentioned that, as a tribute to Gunn's legacy, they'll carry his boots as a sign of respect.
Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale vs Diamante and Mercedes Martinez
Next week, there's a women's tag team match set up: Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale will go against Diamante and Mercedes Martinez. On the August 5 AEW Collision show, Statlander held onto her TBS title by beating Martinez.
But things heated up afterward – Martinez unexpectedly attacked Statlander. That's when Diamante showed up and joined in the beatdown. But then, the situation shifted as Willow hurried over to rescue Statlander.
We'll hear from Ricky Starks
As revealed on the August 11 broadcast of AEW Rampage, Starks is scheduled to address the audience on the upcoming August 12 episode of AEW Collision. In the previous episode on August 5, Starks took on CM Punk in a contest for the "real" AEW World Championship, but couldn't secure a victory. Following the match, Starks went on to assault the special outside official, Ricky Starks, after the match had concluded.
We'll hear from Powerhouse Hobbs
Furthermore, AEW has revealed that former TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs is scheduled to address the audience during the upcoming show. Hobbs has been in a conflict with QT Marshall and the QTV team in the past few weeks. During the August 5 episode, Marshall extended an offer to Hobbs, presenting him with a chain and promising assistance for a victory at AEW All Out. However, Hobbs declined the offer, asserting that he didn't require any help.
