AEW Star Accused Of Sandbagging Marina Shafir During AEW Dynamite Match
Former Ring of Honor star Eric Stevens, who retired from wrestling in 2020, wrote the following about the Thunder Rosa vs Marina Shafir match from the June 8, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a match where somebody so obviously tried to make themselves look better than their opponent by sandbagging and no selling, but I just saw a perfect example of it on Dynamite.
It might just look like a bad match to the untrained eye but it’s pretty clear when somebody doesn’t want to play ball. Which sucks because it just makes you and your opponent look bad.”
Former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker as well as Marina liked the tweet from the person that was accusing Rosa of sandbagging during the match.
This isn't the first time Rosa has been accused of this since Ivelis discussed her issues with Rosa in an interview with Chris Van Vliet last September. She recalled that Lucha Underground had the same issues, but when they worked on Indies together, it didn't happen again, so she thought Rosa had learned her lesson. However, when they worked on Dynamite in a September 2020 match, their match was broken.
This is not how it works in professional wrestling. People aren't happy with your matches because they are sloppy and are just hard to watch.

Direct your frustration towards management (not the fans), for putting you in such a position in the first place.
It might just look like a bad match to the untrained eye but it’s pretty clear when somebody doesn’t want to play ball. Which sucks because it just makes you and your opponent look bad.
