Aamir Khan & Kareena Kapoor's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' Shoot Finally Wrapped
Mumbai, September 16, 2021: A long production journey for Aamir Khan starrer "Laal Singh Chaddha" finally comes to an end as the shoot of this "Forrest Gump" remake has been wrapped up. The movie, which went on floors on 31st October 2019, was delayed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan is an adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name. Apart from Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Kareena Kapoor as the female lead and Naga Chaitanya in his Hindi debut.
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, and Viacom18 Studios, Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations since it begin production in 2019. It was also filmed in Turkey, for the recce of a new shoot before it resumed shoot in Mumbai, India in 2020.
It is one of the most-awaited films, which was earlier supposed to release on Christmas 2020. But due to the pandemic, it has been postponed to Christmas 2021 in cinemas. Even this date is looking uncertain as theaters in India are yet to be allowed with normal capacity.
Aamir Khan's last film, "Thugs of Hindostan" didn't do well and proved to be a flop at the box office. It was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh among others in key roles.
