Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Release Date Locked
Mumbai, January 27 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is set to be delayed to the end of this year. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the comedy-drama is one of the highly-anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and a potential big comeback for the actor after the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha.
Sitaare Zameen Par has been in production since early 2024 and was supposed to be released during Christmas 2024 weekend before makers postponed it to early 2025, but not anymore. Aamir Khan has confirmed that the movie would now be released on Christmas this year.
The Dangal star attended the Republic Day celebrations at the Statue of Unity in Vadodara on Sunday where he shared the details about the project. It said that Sitaare Zameen Par is the sequel to his Taare Zameen Par and the makers are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas.
The upcoming movie is based on the Spanish film Champions (2018) and stars Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. It is produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. Meanwhile, before SZP, the superstar will be seen in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's action drama Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. Aamir has reportedly played a cameo in the film that is expected to be released in August this year.
