Adipurush Telugu States Pre-Release Business and Break-Even Details Locked
Hyderabad, June 6 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted highly-awaited Adipurush is getting ready to release in theaters on June 16. The movie is having a huge buzz and curiosity among the fans and general audiences or even the trade that is hopeful of massive returns.
With just 10 days to go for the release, the makers are getting big offers from distributors to grab the theatrical rights. Since Prabhas is playing the lead role, the distributors from Telugu states have thrown huge money for theatrical rights.
According to Telugu media reports, People Media Factory acquired the Telugu states theatrical rights of the film for a whopping approx. 120 crore, according to T2BLive. People Meda Factory sold the Nizam area rights to Mythri Movie Makers for approx. 50 crores. The pre-release business in the 6 territories of Andhra Pradesh has been locked at approx. 52 crores.
The Ceeded area rights have been sealed at approx. 18 crores as the overall business of the movie in AP-TG is approx. 120 crores. This is the 4th highest AP-TG business of all time, after "RRR" (191 Cr), "Baahubali 2" (122 Cr), and "Saaho" (121.60 Cr). "Adipurush" will need to score 121 crores share collection and approx. 200 crores gross collection in order to break even and emerge as a clean hit in the two Telugu states.
According to recent reports, the budget of "Adipurush" is around 500 crores and the makers have already recovered around 430 crores. The post-theatrical digital rights have reportedly been sold to Amazon Prime Video for all languages.
Directed by Om Raut, "Adipurush" is the cinematic adaptation of Ramayana and stars Prabhas as Lord Rama alongside Kriti Sanon as Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, Sunny Singh as Laxman and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, among others. It is produced by T-Series, Retrophiles, and UV Creations.
Meanwhile, the pre-release event of the movie will be held today (June 6) on a grand scale in Tirupathi. During the event, the makers will also release an action-packed second trailer which is said to be better than the first one which itself got huge appreciation.
