When 30 runs were needed in 12 balls, Rahim collected 21 runs in 19th over of Karim Janat where he hit five back to back boundaries to him But his effort was overshadowed by Rashid's brilliance who defend 9 runs in last over thanks to Shafiquallah Shafiq's brilliant effort on long on boundary to stop a certain boundary. Bangladesh could manage only 7 runs in last over and lost the match by a narrow margin of one run.

Earlier in this match, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Mohammad Shahzad and Usman Ghani gave a good start by adding 55 runs for the first wicket.
