Mumbai, September 25 - The makers of psychological crime thriller Chup have reduced the ticket prices of the film from Monday (September 26) along with James Cameron's Avatar re-release and R. Madhavan's Dhokha: Round D Corner.

The aforementioned films will be available to purchase for Rs. 100-110 in most theaters. The makers haven't made the official announcement regarding reducing ticket prices of the film but it seems, the decision came after Brahmastra Part One: Shiva makers confirmed that the film can be watched in just Rs. 100+GST from Monday to Thursday.

Reducing ticket prices could largely benefit "Chup", "Avatar", and "Brahmastra" as these films have found acceptance among the audience. It has been a long cry within the film industry that movie ticket prices should be kept low so that large audiences can afford them, and the latest development suggests the makers are finally looking for course correction.

Director R. Balki's "Chup" has scored well in the first two days and earned 5.13 crores net. The opening day witnessed higher footfalls than the second day due to the National Cinema Day, on which ticket prices were made available for just Rs. 75. The reviews and word of mouth are positive for this film.

On the other hand, the "Avatar" re-release has also scored well in the first two days with approx. 4.50 crores net. "Brahmastra", meanwhile, will cross 250 crores net and 400 crores gross today at the worldwide box office. It is a box office hit despite mixed reviews.

Stay tuned...
