After Prabhas-Fronted Adipurush, Om Raut To Direct 'Shakitmaan' Movie?

Mumbai, July 10 - Maverick Om Raut is one of the best directors in the Hindi film industry. Though Raut has directed only three films, his popularity has increased immensely post the mega box office success of Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior".

Om Raut is currently working on the post-production of what could be his biggest film, Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush". The movie is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, all over the world. Now, according to the reports, Raut has been approached to direct another mega movie, "Shaktimaan".



According to a news portal, Om Raut has been approached to direct "Shaktimaan", which might have Ranveer Singh in the title role. Ranveer has reportedly shown interest in playing Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri aka Shaktimaan. However, the actor is yet to sign on the dotted lines to come officially on board the movie.

"Shakitmaan", which will be made in a trilogy, has been adapted from a popular Indian 90s show of the same name. The legendary role was played by Mukesh Khanna in the show which became massively successful at that time. Sony Pictures International Productions earlier in the year joined hands with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited to announce the big-screen adaptation of the show.

The talks with Om Raut and Ranveer Singh are still in the early stage and nothing has been confirmed yet. However, both have reportedly shown interest in the movie, and if all goes well, the duo will be coming together for the first time for what could be a new age in Indian cinema. As of now, the movie is slated to go on floors sometime in the next year.
