Akshay Kumar All Set To Reunite With Priyadarshan After A Decade For A Comedy Film
Mumbai, July 4, 2021: Yesterday on July 3, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and renowned director Priyadarshan met on the set of Akshay's upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan. The duo even shared a picture of themselves having a laugh discussing something. While they didn't reveal why they met, their fans speculated that their meeting is going to bring them together for the first time since Khatta Meetha (2010).
Well, those speculations are really coming true as the iconic actor-director duo is reuniting after a decade for a comedy film with emotions. Akshay and Priyadarshan have previously collaborated and gave superhit films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhagam Bhaag, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha.
According to reports, the movie was supposed to begin this year, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, it is now expected to go on floors early next year. The movie is said to have an out-and-out comedy film with emotions towards the climax. The director has reportadly locked the basic script, but to give it a final touch, he will continue to work on it until it started rolling out.
Contrary to the reports of doing Hera Pheri 3 or remake of South film, the director reportadly confirmed that it is an original script which is being given the final touch. The movie is said to be produced by Akshay Kumar along with a top producer of the industry.
Meanwhile, Priyadarshan is currently in Mumbai and gearing up for the release of his next Hindi film, Hungama 2 featuring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Pranitha Subhash, and Meezaan Jafry. The comic caper is gearing up for a digital premiere on Disney+Hotstar on July 23. The trailer of the film was recently launched by Akshay.
On the other hand, Akshay, as always has his hands full of films. He is currently shooting for Anand L Rai's "Raksha Bandhan". Apart from it, he is gearing up for the release of Bell Bottom and Sooryavnashi. He then has Prithviraj, Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey, Ratsasan remake, and now, the Priyadarshan's film as well.
