Akshay Kumar On Speculations of Him Doing Yash Raj Films' Dhoom 4: It's Fake News
Mumbai, June 19, 2021: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is arguably the busiest actor in the country. While many actors are finding it difficult to cope up with the covid-19 pandemic, Akshay is mounting on films after films and shooting them with ease.
The superstar currently has 7 confirmed films with a few of them have been wrapped up and waiting for cinemas to reopen for release. Apart from the confirmed films, AK also reportadly has started preparations for the sequel of Oh My God!, plus he is in talks with at least 6-7 more films. While these films are yet to be confirmed, rumours surfaced that he is doing Yash Raj Films' "Dhoom 4".
The rumors of him doing the 4th installment of the Dhoom franchise are surfacing for more than a year now. However, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actor rubbished the speculations and called it "Fake News", putting a break for once and all.
In the interview, the actor was also asked about the current status or release plans of his much and long-awaited, cop drama, Sooryavanshi. The Rohit Shetty directorial has been waiting for the release since March 2020. It has already been postponed twice due to the covid-19 pandemic, and now, the actor is hopeful to be lucky the third time.
"More than a year has passed since Sooryavanshi was slated to release, so firstly, I'd like to thank all my fans from the bottom of my heart for keeping the excitement still alive. It truly means a lot to me", Akshay said to HT.
"As you know, when the situation had started to look better, the team had decided to release the film earlier in April, this year, but that plan got foiled as well. Whenever something isn't going as planned, my mother usually says, 'Fikar na kari puttar, ismein bhi kuch acha hi hona hai'. Over the years, I've started to believe it. Let's see, maybe we will be lucky the third time", he added.
Meanwhile, as the second covid-19 wave is slowing down, Akshay has announced the theatrical release of his another keenly awaited, Bell Bottom. The spy thriller will be hitting theaters on July 27 on Tuesday, having a 6-day long weekend.
