Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj' To Premiere On Amazon Prime Video On July 1

Mumbai, June 28 - Amazon Prime Video has announced the official digital release date of the Akshay Kumar-fronted historical action drama film Samrat Prithviraj.

The Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi-directed movie, which was released in theaters on June 3rd, will be premiering on Prime Video on July 1st, 28 days after its exclusive theatrical run. The movie will be available to stream in the original Hindi language along with dubbed versions of Tamil and Telugu for all its subscribers.

The Yash Raj Films production has had a disappointing box office run so far. The film, which was made on a budget of approx. 200 crores, has grossed approx. 90 crores worldwide, finishing as one of the biggest box office failures of Akshay Kumar.

The film is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king from the Chahamana dynasty. It features Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan, while Manushi Chhillar, in her Bollywood debut, plays the female lead role of Sanyogita alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters.
