Akshay Kumar's 'Soorarai Pottru' Remake Release Date Locked
Mumbai, February 12 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of the much-awaited actioner Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Tiger Shroff, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, among others. The movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, will be hitting big screens on Eid 2024.
Akshay's next after BMCM will be the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongagra. The movie was supposed to hit screens in February this year but was postponed to keep a long gap between the actor's last release and BMCM.
Now, according to Pinkvilla, producers Vikram Malhotra and Suriya along with Akshay Kumar have locked July 12, 2024, for the theatrical release of the movie that is tentatively titled Start Up. Suriya, who headlined the original movie, has also played a cameo in the upcoming Hindi remake.
It is said that the makers will officially announce the release of Start-Up soon with a first-look teaser. The movie will have a longer promotional campaign with multiple assets dropping leading to its release date. The makers have kept a 3 months gap between BMCM and Start-Up as they believe the movie can win over the audiences.
The film is based on the life of Air Deccan Founder, Ramasamy Gopinath, with Akshay in the titular role. Radhika Madan has played the female lead alongside Paresh Rawal in a key role.
