Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi Will Release on Diwali 2021, Confirms Director Rohit Shetty

Mumbai, September 25: It has been a long wait for cinema lovers who have been waiting patiently for the release date of Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi. And finally, the wait is going to end soon as one of the biggest action movies of Rohit Shetty's Cop franchise has locked the theatrical release date.

On Saturday (September 25), Rohit Shetty along with others met the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and urged him to reopen cinemas in the state. Responding positively to their request, the CM announced that theaters will be permitted to operate from October 22 following the covid-19 safety protocols.



As soon as the announcement of theater reopening broke out, Rohit Shetty confirmed that his long-awaited "Sooryavanshi" will be arriving on this Diwali. According to reports, a new trailer cut of the film is also ready and will be released in the coming days.

This film is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, and Cape Of Good Films. It is the fourth installment of Shetty's Police Universe. Akshay Kumar is playing DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad. Katrina Kaif is the leading lady opposite Akshay.

Apart from Akshay and Katrina, the movie also stars Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Jackie Shroff, Nikitin Dheer, Javed Jaffrey in the key roles. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh also reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise's previous films respectively.
