Allu Arjun Creates History At The 69th National Film Awards
New Delhi, August 24 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has created history by becoming the first-ever actor from the Telugu industry to win the Best Actor National award at the 69th National Film Awards. The actor won this prestigious honor for his performance in 2021's movie "Pushpa - The Rise".
Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa - The Rise" won two National awards, including the Best Music Director (songs) by Devi Sri Prasad. Overall, the Telugu film industry claimed 10 National awards, led by SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster film "RRR" with 6 awards.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon jointly announced the winners of the Best Actress award for "Gangubali Kathiawadi" and "Mimi", respectively. Pankaj Tripathi won Best Supporting Actor for "Mimi" while Pallavi Joshi grabbed Best Supporting Actress for "The Kashmir Files".
R. Madhavan's "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" was named the Best Film, while "RRR" won Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. "RRR" won the highest number of awards, followed by "Gangubai Kathiawadi" and "Sardar Uddham" with 5 awards each.
