The biggest multi-starrer of the 70s and undoubtedly one the biggest ever in the history of Indian cinema, Amar Akbar Anthony was released on this very day (May 27) in 1977. The film still considers as the beginning of masala entertainers in Bollywood.

Amitabh Bachchan who had a lasting impact on the people with his character of Anthony Gonsalves took to his Instagram handle to remember the days of Amar Akbar Anthony. Sharing a picture of himself with his two children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan who were 1 and 3 years old then respectively and had visited the set of AAA, Big B wrote,

"SHWETA and Abhishek visit me on set of Amar Akbar Anthony .. shooting song ‘My name is Anthony Gonsalves’ .. at Holiday Inn Ball Room .. this pic on the beach front... 43 YEARS of AAA, today .. !!!" Amar Akbar Anthony is directed by Manmohan Desai who was one of the biggest directors then. When he narrated the story of AAA, Big B said that it was out of place and was completely different from the other movies of the 70s.

"When Man ji (Manmohan Desai) came to narrate the idea to me .. and told me the Title .. I thought he had lost it .. at a time in the 70’s when film titles revolved around Behen Bhabhi and Beti, this one was so out of place," Big B wrote.

Continuing his post, Big B added, "inflation adjusted", AAA crosses collections of Baahubali 2. "But it is reported that it did a business of Rs 7.25 crore at that time. Inflation-adjusted, it crosses collections of Baahubali 2... say the sayers, who do calculations. But fact is it did massive business... did 25 weeks in 25 theatres in Mumbai alone, or so they say. Doesn't happen now... gone are those days!"
