Chennai, March 6 - Tamil actor Arya reunites with director Pa Ranjith for the sequel to the much-loved and critically acclaimed period sport actioner, Sarpatta Parambarai. Titled Sarpatta Round 2, the movie this time will be released in theaters unlike the original which was released directly on Amazon Prime Video.

Arya took to Twitter and made the official announcement regarding the sequel. It will be produced by Naad Sstudios, Neelam Productions, and The Show People.

The makers haven't made it clear whether the rest of the cast and crew from the original film will make a return in the sequel, but it is expected that the film will continue the story of Kabilan (Arya) after his big win at the end of "Sarpatta Parambarai".
