Chiyaan 61: Vikram's Pan India Film With Director Pa Ranjith Titled 'Thangalaan'

Chennai, October 23 - After scoring the biggest hit of his career with multistarrer, Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1, Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram now joins hands for the first time with director Pa Ranjith for a Pan India film, titled Thangalaan.

The title of the movie was launched today (October 23) with the first look teaser. The first glimpse released by the makers features Vikram as the leader of a clan and the clip also offers a glimpse of Malavika Mohanan who plays the female lead along with Parvathy Thiruvothu and Pasupathi in key roles. The music by GV Prakash Kumar is intriguing.



Vikram took to Twitter and announced the title of the film with a first-look teaser. "What better way to say 'Happy Deepavali' than this!! May this lil peek into the world of #Thangalaan light up your day", he wrote.

"Thangalaan" is touted to be the next big thing in the Kollywood industry. Produced by Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green, the movie is a period drama set in Kolar gold fields in the 1800s. It is said that Pa Ranjith had narrated the story to Vikram in 2014. But due to some reasons, the film could not go on floor.

It is a big-budget actioner, which will be shot in 2D and 3D, and will release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam in the summer of 2023.
