Avatar 2 shooting to resume in New Zealand next week
One of the most awaited movies across the globe, Avatar 2 is set to resume its shooting from the next week in New Zealand. Producer of the film, Jon Landau took to Instagram to share an image along with the caption that read,
"Our #Avatar sets are ready — and we couldn’t be more excited to be headed back to New Zealand next week. Check out the Matador, a high speed forward command vessel (bottom) and the Picador jetboat (top) — can’t wait to share more."
Avatar 2 shooting had already started in the month of March but the coronavirus pandemic halted its further shoot as safety precautions. However, New Zealand was also among the affected countries and was in the lockdown but the situation has improved a lot there and the production work has been allowed to resume.
Directed by James Cameron, the initial release date of the film is scheduled for December 17, 2021 (US). However, it will be interesting to see if the makers will stick to the same date or revise it.
Talking about the original Avatar, it was released in 2009 and was the highest-grossing movie ever with $ 2.79 Billion until the Avengers: Endgame release which is now the highest-grossing movie with nearly $ 2.80 Billion worldwide.
