Avatar Confirmed Titles of Its Sequels
Los Angeles, December 28 - Blockbuster filmmaker James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water has officially crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office and all it took to reach the milestone is just 14 days since its global rollout began on December 25.
"Avatar: The Way of Water" is the 3rd James Cameron-directed movie to top $1 billion globally after "Titanic" (1997) and "Avatar" (2007). Cameron's next films will be "Avatar 3" and "Avatar 4" while it is not yet confirmed whether he will direct the 5th installment of "The Avatar" franchise.
The third installment of "Avatar" has been titled Avatar: The Seed Bearer which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. Cameron revealed that 95% shot of "Avatar 3" has already been completed along with 5% initial portion of "Avatar 4", which is titled Avatar: The Tulkun Rider is also done. "Avatar 4" will hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
"Avatar 5", which is not yet confirmed who will direct, has been titled Avatar: The quest for Eywa and it will be released on December 22, 2028. Apart from the already-announced Avatar movies, Cameron also revealed that he already has plans for Avatar 6 and 7, and he would like to train someone to direct those epics.
