Bhumi Pednekar To Reunite With Akshay Kumar In Raksha Bandhan

Mumbai, June 7, 2021: Last year, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar had announced his next film, Raksha Bandhan, and added one more title to his vast library of films which are currently under production. The movie is being directed by Aanand L Rai while Himanshu Sharma has written it.

After getting delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic, Raksha Bandhan is all set to go on floors in the coming days. A couple of days ago, it was reported that actress Bhumi Pednekar has been approached to play the female lead opposite Akshay. Now, confirming the news, Akshay Kumar took to social media and brings the actress on board

It is only the second time when Bhumi will share screen space with the superstar. Previously, she starred with Akshay in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, in which she played the role of Akshay Kumar's wife. Bhumi also starred in Durgavati, which was produced by AK.

On the other hand, Raksha Bandhan marks the second collaboration of Akshay with the director Aanand L Rai, after 'Atrangi Re', co-starring Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan. Atrangi Re is slated to release in August this year in theaters.

Meanwhile, Raksha Bandhan, which is being produced by Colour Yellow Productions in association with the Cape Of Good Films, was originally announced to be released worldwide on November 5 this year. However, due to the pandemic and considering the fact that it is yet to go on floors, that release date is looking far from reality.
