'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' Is Hollywood's Most Anticipated Film Of 2022
Los Angeles, December 28 - Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is the most anticipated Hollywood title of 2022, according to ticketing website Fandango. The online ticket retailer company conduct a poll survey on more than 6,000 ticket-buyers this month and asked which theatrical tentpoles they're the most excited about in 2022.
In the poll, the sequel of the highest-grossing solo superhero movie of all time "Black Panther" got the highest number of votes. The Sony/Marvel's animated superhero film "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)" is at the second on the list, followed by Warner Bros' DC Film "The Batman".
Meanwhile, James Cameron's "Avatar 2" is currently the 7th most anticipated Hollywood title. This is surprising knowing that "Avatar 2" is long-awaited and is the sequel to the highest-grossing film of the all-time. Sure the anticipation will change and "Avatar 2" will definitely be among the top movies to watch out for in 2022.

Meanwhile, according to Fandango, the fans have shown interest in Chris Hemsworth's Thor character (Thor: Love and Thunder) the 2022's most anticipated returning performances, followed by Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange (Multiverse of Madness), and Natalie Portman as Dr. Jane Foster/Mighty Thor (Thor: Love and Thunder).
Despite the ongoing pandemic, moviegoers, as per the recent domestic survey, have shown that they'll come out for event movies. Gower Analytics forecasts that the North America box office will grow to $9.2 billion next year, a 114% surge above the current 2021 level in U.S. and Canada through December 26 at $4.3 billion.
