Box Office: 'Bad Newz' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 19 - It's good news for the industry as director Anand Tiwari's comedy-drama Bad Newz has taken a good start at the domestic box office, surpassing expectations to score one of the biggest openings for a Vicky Kaushal-starrer.

Also starring Tripti Dimri and Ammy Virk, Bad Newz has come as a breeze of the fresh air for Bollywood which has struggled to take a good start for most of the film. As per the early estimates, Bad Newz has scored in the range of 8.50-9 crores net collection which would be the 5th biggest opening of the year for a Bollywood title.



Bad Newz scored good pre-sales which indicated the opening in the range of 9 crores net and the positive word of mouth ensured the walk-ups also remained strong to help the movie start on the projected lines. It would be the biggest opening for a Vicky Kaushal-starrer, beating Uri which minted 8.20 crores net opening day.

With positive word-of-mouth by its side, Bad Newz will look to score the opening weekend in the range of 30 crores net, most likely on the upper side, which will be one of the best debuts for Vicky Kaushal as well as Tripti Dimri and Ammy Virk.
