Dakota Johnson-Led 'Madame Web' Becomes Worst-Reviewed Spider-Man Universe Film

Mumbai, February 17 - Dakota Johnson-led superhero movie Madame Web is now the worst-reviewed Sony Pictures' Marvel movie. It is the fourth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) after Venom (2018), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and Morbius (2022).

Directed by S. J. Clarkson, Madame Web's critics' score at Rotten Tomatoes is currently at just 13% from 175 reviews while the audience score is 54%, making it the worst-rated Spider-Man spin-off film on both parameters. Previously, Morbius was at the bottom with 15% and 71% with critics and audience scores, respectively.

Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson in the title role, alongside Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott. In the film, Cassie Webb (Johnson) confronts her past while trying to save three young women and their futures from Ezekiel Sims (Rahim).

The movie was released on February 14 in the United States while in India, it hit screens on February 16 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
