Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' Official Release Date Locked

Chennai, May 19 - Legendary superstar Kamal Haasan's vigilante action Indian 2 will be hitting worldwide cinemas on July 12, 2024, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, the makers have officially confirmed the new date.

Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 was supposed to be released in June but has now been postponed due to the delay in post-production work. It is the sequel to Haasan and Shankar's Indian (1996) which was a huge blockbuster at the box office.



The new release date of Indian 2 comes with the announcement of the first single which will be out on May 22. It is an Anirudh musical and is expected to set the stage for the film leading to its release date in July.

Produced by Lyca Productions, the movie stars Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and has an ensemble supporting cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, S. J. Suryah, Bobby Simha, Vivek, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

Indian 2 will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, as Indian 2, Bharatheeyudu 2, and Hindusthani 2, respectively.
