Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life' To Clash With Prabhas-Fronted 'The Raja Saab'?

Chennai, October 26 - Legendary duo of Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam joined forces 36 years after Nayakan for the action drama film Thug Life. It is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies and has been one of the most-anticipated Tamil movies in the making.

The principal photography of Thug Life has been completed and the movie is currently in the post-production stage. Meanwhile, the film's release date has reportedly been revealed and a possible box office face-off is looming large.



According to the latest Tamil media reports, Thug Life will be released on April 10, 2025, in multiple languages. This would mean a direct clash with Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted horror-comedy The Raja Saab which is already scheduled to hit the big screen on the same day.

Subject to the official announcement, Thug Life will be released during the Tamil New Year, an ideal date for Tamil movies to cash in at the box office. However, it will face massive competition outside the Tamil market as Prabhas is easily the biggest star in the country presently.

The Kamal Haasan-fronted boasts a rock-solid star cast, which also includes Silambarasan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Ashok Selvan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nassar, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri in key roles.
